A fruitful cooperation between p-medicine and Japan

Special Session at 35th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society

The foundation for a productive cooperation between p-medicine and Japan has already been laid by continuing the Japanese-European relationship established in the p-medicine predecessor project ACGT. Thus, the University of Hokkaido (UHok) is actively involved as a partner in p-medicine with respect to the extension of the Trial Outline Builder (TOB).

If you are interested in finding out more about UHok’s contribution to the project: Their involvement and work on the Trial Outline Builder (TOB) are largely featured in the 2nd p-medicine newsletter.

Since the start of the project, the cooperation with Japan has been intensified. As already announced in the news on May 3, 2013, p-medicine partners will hold a special session at the 35th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (35th IEEE EMBC ’13) on July 5, 2013 in Osaka, Japan.

Another step in the efforts to intensify the cooperation between the project and Japan was a visit to Yokohama paid by Norbert Graf, the coordinator of p-medicine, on November 29, 2012. He was invited to an information and exchange meeting initiated by Prof. Yuzuru Tanaka of UHok between the Keihin Coastal Area Life Innovation project of the City of Yokohama and p-medicine. The objective was to discuss views and opinions of both projects and to reinforce possible collaborations. Additional participants in the meeting were DNA Chip Research Inc., Hitachi Solutions Ltd. and Toho University.
